Independent write-ups place Torzon’s launch around September 2022. DNM Watch describes the same 2022 cohort as an infrastructure-first shop: uptime, mirror rotation, and signed staff notes rather than a novel escrow model. It spent several years as a mid-size name before public reporting describes a sharp rise after two 2025 shocks.
Those shocks are the Europol-linked Archetyp action in June 2025 and the Abacus disappearance in early July 2025. TorWiki and DNM Watch both describe Torzon as absorbing a large share of the displaced English-language traffic. Several open directories now call it the largest active English-language market by listing count. That kind of lead has never been permanent in this ecosystem, and our catalog treats the name as a status entry, not a recommendation.

TorWiki’s dedicated review adds a conventional escrow model, finalize-early limited to established vendors, dual 2FA options (OTP and PGP-based), and a review system it describes as PGP-tied, plus a three-tier vendor ladder.
